QR CODES
The name "QR Code" stands for "Quick Response"

What is a QR Code and does it do any good?

Having a QR (Quick Response) Code on your printed material will send potential clients directly to your website when they scan the code with SmartPhones and other mobile devices. It also shows that you are keeping up with the times!

QR codes allow anyone with a SmartPhone or other mobile device to scan in the code, which takes them directly to wherever the code points them

More and more people with SmartPhones are taking advantage of QR technology!

QR Codes show that you are up with the times!

The QR code technology was first created in Japan by a Toyota subsidiary called Denso-Wave in 1994 and is now one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes. The QR code was created to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. The technology has seen frequent use in Japan, the Netherlands, and South Korea, while the West has been slower in the adoption of QR codes. Its more prevalent use surfaced in 2010 and is becoming more and more popular in the United States and in Canada as time goes on.

What is a QR code and how does it work?

A QR code (which stands for "Quick Response Code") is a specific matrix barcode, or two-dimensional code, that is readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera telephones. The code consists of modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. Although they are usually black on a white background, many QR code-generating programs also give the possibility of creating a QR code in different colours.

Since most Smart Phones today have "reader" technology already included, you can use your phone camera to "read" a QR code on a business card, a brochure or even a website.

What can I have in a QR code?

QR codes can be links to specific pages on your website, or can be specific text such as giving the reader a phone number, or any other information. We at Affordable Web Design Ltd can generate a QR code for you which contains information you requested, which can be used in many places:

  • we can add it to your website for you
  • we can email it to you so that you can add it to your email signature
  • we can send it directly to your printer for your business card, brochures or any other printed material you may use.
